Day 1 – The Beginning
Monday, April 9
This is it the beginning of the revolution.
It says in Ephesians 6:12 that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against powers of the dark world and against spiritual forces of evil, it is now time to take a stand as one of God’s warriors against the devil’s schemes (verse 12). God has clearly laid out how we should prepare ourselves for this mission (verse 13) in Ephesians 6:10-18. We need the truth of God and the need to be right with Him (verse 14). We also need to be quick to act on God’s word (verse 15), and have faith in God to protect us from satan’s attacks (verse 16). Take knowledge of your salvation and share the Word of God through action and word (verse 17), not forgetting to be alert, prayerful for all things including for our fellow warriors (saints) (verse 18). Check this out for yourself and ask God if this is what He wants you to do.
Like all wars there are things we have to do. Below is a list to start with.
What am I fasting (giving up)?
Who are my prayer partners?
Who am I targeting in prayer?
What did God teach me today?
Day 2 - Clean Up
Tuesday, April 10
Look in your room and ask Jesus if He wants you to get rid of anything. And get rid of it! Some things you might want to consider are: CD’s, cassettes, revealing clothing, Ouija Boards, cigarettes, drugs, posters, videos, books, web bookmarks, other_________
Do not sell these things! Find creative ways to demolish them.
2 Corinthians 7:1 “Therefore, since these great promises are ours, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that contaminates and defiles body and spirit, and bring our consecration to completeness in reverential fear of the Lord.”
Day 3 – The Gathering
Wednesday, April 11
Get together with other Christians to pray for your school, friends, community, and country. If faced with opposition, students should keep in mind that they have gathered for the sole purpose of prayer. Ask God to bring a spiritual awakening to the Centre Region. It is now is time to ask God to guide you in what He wants you to do and how you should pray specifically for your family, school, nation, and world.
Day 4 - Passion for Others: Write a note or talk with someone
Thursday, April 12
Make a statement of the love of God by demonstrating it in a simple way. Write a note to or have a conversation with someone whom you do not usually associate with or know well. Write several students an encouraging note or talk to them and let them know you will be praying for them. Many students walk in depression and even consider suicide because they feel so alone. Ask God to direct you to the people that need to be encouraged the most. Ask Him to help you see past the false fronts that people wear on their faces—even happiness and laughter can be fake.
James 2:1-4 “My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don’t show favoritism. Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, ‘sit here,’ but say to the poor man, ‘sit on the floor by my feet,’ have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?”
Day 5 - Forgiveness
Friday, April 13
Ask God if there is anyone (teachers, friends, family, pastor) from whom you need to ask forgiveness, then just do it. This is a very humbling experience, but it brings such freedom to you, and it is doing what pleases the Father’s heart. To the Lord, this is even more important than sacrifice—like fasting. An example of how you could start the conversation is, “I realize I have disappointed you with my actions (and be specific). Will you please forgive me?”
Day 6 - Forgiveness -Part 2
Saturday, April 14
Today it is your turn to forgive. Make a list of all the people you haven’t forgiven, and then make a decision with all your will that you are going to forgive. Don’t let these things separate you from the Lord. Tell God that you forgive______ and insert the person’s name. If you have been holding anger or bitterness, pray about going to the person and asking them to forgive you. Be humble! The wrong they did to you does not justify the wrong in your heart toward them.
Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
Day 7 - Pray For a Minister
Sunday, April 15
Today make an extra special effort to call and thank someone that has helped (ministered) you in a time of need. Ministering is a distinct Biblical concept that means to serve or be a servant. In reality, all believers are "ministers." The apostle Paul urged the true pastor-teacher to "equip the saints" so they can minister to one another (Eph. 4:11-12) So find a Christian that has aided you in a time of need and today make an extra special effort to bless your friend
Day 8 - Passion for Your Family
Monday, April 16
Walk around your house and pray for each member of your family. Pray over their rooms. Ask God to draw them closer to Him. Pray over the things they love. Go through the Bible and find specific scriptures to pray over them. Ask God to give you more of a heart to listen to your parents’ wisdom and to turn your heart toward them.
Malachi 4:6 “And He shall turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to the fathers, lest I come and strike the land with a curse.”
“Oh, how few find time for prayer! There is time for everything else, time to sleep and time to eat, time to read the newspaper and the novel, time to visit friends, time for everything else under the sun, but—no time for prayer, the most important of all things, the one great essential!” -Oswald Smith
Day 9 - Pray for your Teachers
Tuesday, April 17
Pray for your teachers. Write a note of encouragement to two teachers. Figure out ways you can begin to serve them. Make a point this next week to talk with them—see what you can do to make their week a little brighter.
Galatians 6:6 “Let him who receives instruction share all good things with his teacher.”
Day 10 - Storm the Gates
Wednesday, April 18
Pray in front of the main door to your school.
Ask God to come and rule on your campus.
Genesis 24:60 "... may your offspring possess the gates of their enemies."
Isaiah 26:2 "Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter, the nation that keeps faith."
Matthew 16:16-18 " ...You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God...And on this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not overcome it."
Day 11 - Locker Prayer
Thursday, April 19
Pray for the people who have lockers around you. You can leave them a note that said you were praying for them today. Even ask them if they have anything they need specifically in the way of prayer. If you talk to them in person, ask them if you can pray for them on the spot.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Be unceasing in prayer.”
Day 12 - Cookies and Donuts
Friday, April 20
Today might cost some money and some time, but it will be fun! Bake or buy donuts, cookies, and other baked goods. Get to school early and pass them out to all the kids you possibly can. Tell people it is just because you wanted them to know they are special and God loves them. Most of the time you will have positive responses to this. But if anyone responds to you negatively, don’t get angry! Remember who they are—find out their name, if possible, and pray for them.
John 13:15 “I have for you an example that you should do as I have done for you.”
Day 13 - Passion for God
Saturday, April 21
Today find a verse or a chapter in the Bible that talks about the greatness of God and the fear of the Lord. It is knowing how awesome our God is and knowing what God thinks of us that roots out the fear of man. Ask Jesus to give you a fresh revelation of the fear of the Lord. Over the next couple of weeks this is going to be one of the most important tools that you will need to press through the tough things God asks you to do. Suggested Scripture: Job 26,
Psalm 18, Revelation 4, 5, 6
Day 14 - Serve your Family
Sunday, April 22
What could you do to serve your family (your parents or guardians and siblings) that would really surprise them and would demonstrate your love for them? Take the initiative to do something special without having been asked.
Some suggestions: Baby-sit, do laundry, cook, mow yard, clean pool, paint, wash windows, fix something, wash dishes, mop, rake/ weed, wash cars, clean bathroom. Ask the Lord to give you the heart of a servant toward your family.
Ephesians 6:2-3 “Honor you father and mother that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”
Day 15 - Pray for Those Around You
Monday, April 23
In each class, pray for the person seated in front of you, behind you and on each side of you. Write down their needs on a piece of paper and carry it with you in your Bible. Pray for them everyday until the end of the forty days. Ask God to fill the holes in their lives. Many times people will try to fill the emptiness in their lives with the things of this world. They never find true satisfaction because Jesus is the only one who can satisfy the deep cravings of our souls. Ask Jesus to satisfy you—and ask Him to satisfy the people around you that are searching.
1 Timothy 2:1 “First of all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men…”
Day 16 - Custodian/ Support Staff
Tuesday, April 24
The custodians and support staff work behind the scenes with little or no recognition. Librarians, food servers, and janitors are not often even acknowledged. Encourage them and show them appreciation for the hard work they do to keep the school functioning. Write cards and leave notes telling them you are praying for them. Ask if there is anything specific that you can pray for them.
Day 17 - Pray for the Administration
Wednesday, April 25
Your principal and others on staff at your school have a very difficult job. They also play a very important role on your campus. When students bless, pray for, and serve their administrators, it has an amazing impact on the school.
Pray for the staff today. Write them notes to encourage them and let them know you are praying for them. If you have been at odds with any of the staff, pray that God would heal the division and go make it right with that person.
Romans 13:1 “Let every person be loyally subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God and those that exist do so by His appointment.
Day 18 - Pray for the Walls to Fall
Thursday, April 26
Read Joshua 1 and 6. God promised Joshua that if he was bold and courageous to go into the land, God was going to give him every place that his foot touched. Begin to walk around your school and pray. Ask God to turn the lost to Him. Ask Him to set free all the students who struggle with addictions. Pray for the students, teachers, and administrators. If you can, grab a friend, or a whole group to walk and pray with you. And ask for the Christians on campus to burn with passion in their hearts for the Lord again.
Joshua 6:2-5 “Then the Lord said to Joshua, ‘See, I have delivered
Day 19 - Passion for Unsaved People
Friday, April 27
Write the names of some unsaved people you know on stickers or note cards. Place these in your bathroom, on your mirror, in you Bible—anywhere you will see them often. Commit to pray for them until they find Jesus. Ask the Lord for specific scriptures to pray over them. Ask Him for His heart for these people. Remember that Jesus is longing for them to know Him.
James 5:16 “…The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”
Day 20 – Love Dad Day!
Saturday, April 28
Do something to get closer to your Dad. If you don't have an "Earthly" father, choose a male adult or your "Heavenly" Father. Also, if Dad is out of town, you choose another day or do something that he will appreciate upon his returns.
Tell him how special he is.
Tell him with actions.
Write an encouraging note.
Serve him in a practical way.
Help around the house.
Take him out to eat.
Baby-sit siblings.
Buy a gift.
Other. ______________
Malachi 4:5-6 "See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse."
Day 21 - Date with Jesus
Sunday, April 29
Ask God what long-term life-style changes or sacrifices he is calling you to make. Remember that the revolution starts in your own heart.
Take at least half an hour (or more) of this day to go on a date with Jesus. Plan to go somewhere quiet where there will be no interruptions, like a favorite park and set aside time to do nothing but be with Him. Don’t take distracting books along with you only the Bible. Believe that He will talk to you and write down the impressions that you get in prayer.
Ask Him to show you what He thinks about you. What does He love? What does He want to change? Ask for a new place of intimacy with Him. Take time just to be with Jesus. Talk to Him. Be His friend, and let Him be yours. As you spend time with Jesus, the true intercessor, the greatest servant, and the best evangelist, you will learn to become like Him.
Psalm 25:14 “The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.”
Day 22 – The 30KD
Monday, April 30
Take the 30KD challenge is to pray at your locker or at lunch. Pray for thirty seconds at your locker today.
Prayer Target: Here are three areas in which you can pray:
1: God, Thanks! God, I bow my knee in humility to You. I know your loving presence will be with me all day. Thank you for loving me today. I love you, too! "...love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind." (Matthew 22:37)
2: God, Touch Them! Prayer: God, touch the teachers, administration, and students on my campus today. One touch from you, Father, can change someone's destiny. Touch them through me. "...Love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:39)
3: God, Tell Them! God, the message of Jesus' love for my campus must be told. Use me as the messenger. I will tell those around me how much you love them. "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations..." (Matthew 28:19)
Day 23 - The Bible
Tuesday, May 1
Take your Bible with you everywhere. Read it when you have free time. Find passages about the Lord’s goodness and read them over your own life. Put your name in verses. Ask God to make His promises real in your life. Study the power of fasting and united prayer to encourage you.
Day 24 Buy someone lunch day
Wednesday, May 2
Serve someone by purchasing or making lunch for them.
If the person asks why, say "just because I want you to know that God loves you in a practical way, no strings attached."
If the person wants you to sit with him/her, then do so and pray for a chance to share more about God's love with him/her.
I heard of a student brought $20 and picked people at random and bought their lunch. He had a blast and some great conversations.
Matt 25:35
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,”
Day 25 - Pray for Wounded Christians
Thursday, May 3
Today, pray for the people who were once close to God but who are now walking away. Remember that anything God leads you to do must be done with humility, love, and a desire to restore this person’s friendship with Jesus. Pray that Jesus will show you His heart toward these people. He misses them. He loves them desperately. Pray that their hearts will not be hardened to the love of God. And pray that the hurt in their hearts, which caused them to walk away, will be healed.
Call, email, or write a note to someone that needs encouragement to walk again for Jesus.
1 Corinthians 13:7-8 “Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything without weakening. Love never fails…”
Day 26 - Drive-by Prayer.
Friday, May 4
While on your way to school pray for your neighborhood and city
Pray that the people in your community would not be driven by materialism and would turn their hearts toward God.
Pray for the specific people you pass by.
Ask Jesus to make Himself real to them.
Day 27 - Bible Clubs/ Prayer Groups
Saturday, May 5
One of the most powerful tools that God is using on campus is Christian clubs such as Bible studies or prayer groups. If you have one in your school thank God for it and bless the student leaders, and teachers that sponsor these groups.
Pray together for many people in the school to come to know Jesus. There is so much power in agreement! Don’t be molded into the norm. Set the standard!
Romans 12:1 “I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of all the mercies of God to make a decisive dedication of your bodies as a living sacrifice—holy, devoted, consecrated, and well pleasing to God. This is your service and spiritual worship.”
Psalm 24:7-10 “Lift up your heads, O you gates, and be lifted up you ancient doors, that the King of Glory may come in. Who is the King of Glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates; yes, lift them up you ancient doors, that the King of Glory may come in. Who is this King of Glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of Glory.”
Day 28 - LOVE YOUR MOM DAY!
Sunday, May 6
Do something to get closer to your Mom. If you don't have a mother, choose a female adult or your ultimate "Heavenly" parent, God. Also, if Mom is out of town, choose another day or do something that she will appreciate upon her return.
Give her flowers.
Take her shopping.
Write her a note or write a poem.
Help around the house.
Buy a gift.
Let her take a nap.
Baby-sit for her.
Cook dinner or take her out to eat.
Proverbs 10:1 "A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son grief to his mother."
Day 29 - Compassion for the Sick
Monday, May 7
Today you will have the chance again to serve Jesus in practical ways through caring for any who are sick.
Pray for anyone that is sick. Don’t stop at prayer, but start with prayer.
Write a note to anyone you know who is sick. Visit someone you know who might be sick.
Go to the school’s nurses’ office and see if you can do anything for them. Pray for those who are sick if they will let you. Ask God for a miracle.
Day 30 - Reach Out to Strangers
Tuesday, May 8
Today you will serve Jesus by reaching out to a stranger. There are many ways that you could do this. Ask God to give you a creative way to invite a stranger in to your life, circle of friends, club, or youth group.
Ask God to show you a stranger and how you can bless them.
Invite them to your table for lunch.
Ask them into your home or your circle of friends.
Go meet a new neighbor or one who has been there for years but with whom you have not spoken.
Read Matthew 25:35, 40.
Day 31 - Buy Someone a Drink
Wednesday, May 9
Here is another very practical way that you can serve those around you. Find creative ideas of how to give drinks out. A few ideas are:
Stand at the soda machine with a pocket full of quarters and pay for people’s drinks as they come up.
Buy bottles of water or Gatorade and pass it out to the sports teams after practice. You can even just leave them at each locker spot in the locker rooms. Be as visible or as invisible as you like. Ask God for key strategies of how to serve your campus most effectively. This is not a one-time thing. This is a lifestyle of servanthood.
