Easter Sunday, April 20, from 5:00-8:00pm.
Sunday at 5:00pm, join us for Sundays: Unplugged, an informal time to gather for food and fellowship followed by open-ended acoustic worship and prophetic prayer. Food and fellowship from roughly 5-6:30 (bring something to share!), with worship and prayer from 6:30-8:00, or whenever we finish! You are welcome to come and go as you please. Kids are welcome: this is an event for the whole family.
What’s this all about?
On March 16, 2025, we were all getting ready for a potluck and church service, but God had different plans. That afternoon, a destructive storm, possibly a tornado (it’s unclear exactly what happened), rushed through town and took out trees and telephone poles, closing streets and knocking out power to the church. But not everybody knew this: some of us lived in areas that were hardly hit, and so we showed up at church at 4:30 to get ready. We found the building in the dark and a few people telling us the event had been cancelled. But we were already there, potluck in hand, ready to eat and spend time together. We swapped stories about what had happened, standing there in the dark since the power was out, and decided, why not eat the food we all brought anyway? Over the next two hours, more and more people showed up, having not received notice that Encounter Night was cancelled. Robbie Parks had his acoustic guitar, and somebody said, “Why don’t we just do a little worship thing anyway?” And so we did. We moved into the sanctuary, and Robbie and Autumn began leading worship while Naisha spontaneously picked songs, and everyone sang. Tim Marshall pulled out a battery-powered work light from his truck. We worshipped for a while, and the Holy Spirit’s presence grew ever more apparent. Jim Bucci stood up and led us into ministry time, where we prayed over each other and life-changing prophetic words were shared. Everybody left filled and ready to do it again. Soon Tim, Robbie, and Autumn were approached about leading a similar event every Sunday evening, and so Sundays Unplugged was born.
What to Expect
Sundays Unplugged, like the event that inspired it, is a time to hang out and meet the Holy Spirit. The details may be different from day to day, but you can expect a good bit of relaxing and refreshing, hang out and fellowship, starting at 5:00 and going till 6:00 or 6:30. At some point, we will move into extended, unstructured, acoustic worship and personal, laying-on-of-hands, prophetic prayer. Robbie, Autumn, or another designated person might share a testimony or Bible message. We’ll do whatever the Holy Spirit leads.
Who will be there?
The group might range anywhere from a handful of people to a packed room. There is only one who is guaranteed to be present: Jesus.
What should I bring?
Bring food to share and a heart ready to refresh in God’s presence.
